SOCK IT TO ME CAKE

This cake is special to me. because my mother always made this cake for my dad's birthday. I thought you may enjoy this recipe.

Always an elegant addition to your special event. You can make ahead of time and let all the flavors marry together. Rich flavors of cinnamon, pecans, brown sugar, and vanilla.

You can serve this cake as is or maybe dress it up with sugared flowers or chocolate dipped pecans.

Ingredients

Batter

1 pkg Golden cake mix (Duncan Hines is preferred)

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup vegetable shortening (Crisco is preferred)

1/4 cup white sugar

1/4 cup water

4 large eggs

Filling

1 cup chopped pecans

2 Tbs brown sugar

2 tsp cinnamon
