​Jay is a husband, father of three, and grandfather of six with one on the way! His interests span quite a variety of things, from mending fences on his farm, cooking unbelievable wonderful delicacies to creating incredibly beautiful floral arrangements for all occasions.

Jay can often be heard telling people who are admiring his work "it is a God given talent".   His floral designed started when he was 13 years old, dumpster diving at his small-town florist and bring home flowers on his bike to spend the afternoon in his parents basement creating the things only he could imagine.

Jay started his career as a chef, ultimately owning his own wedding business.  Several years later he became interested in the funeral business and went on to complete his degree in Mortuary Science.  his love for all things culinary and floral continued through small private caterings and creating floral sprays for friends, family and his church.  His floral designing is mostly self-taught but he has been fortunate to work along side some incredibly talented people who helped his shape his designing into beautiful works of art.

Jay and wife Martha moved to Bedford 15 years ago fully expecting it to be temporary while he was going to mortuary school but they fell in love with the small-town atmosphere and the wonderful people that have allowed them to be a part of their community and their lives.  He has proudly been a familiar face at Ransdell Funeral home for the last 15 years and together they have made Bedford theit forever home.
